Stryn summer skiing at a glance
The Stryn summer ski centre runs lifts on snow in summer. The operator's average season starts at the end of May, continues through June and ends in mid-July. How long it lasts depends on the amount of snow, so these months are an average and not a promise for any year.
As of 20 October 2026 the 2026 ski season is over. The operator has announced the next season for the end of May 2027. A start date has not been confirmed, so check the operator's page before you book travel around it. During the ski season the lifts are listed as open daily from 10:30 to 16:00. That does not mean the lifts open in October.

Ticket rules to know
- Children are defined as ages 6–15. The same price list says children of six and younger ride free. Age 6 appears in both groups, so ask the operator what applies to a six year old.
- You need the keycard even if you ride free. An existing Skidata card can be reused. The card is personal and not refundable.
- The price list gives no group discounts.
- There is no compensation if operation stops because of weather, a power cut or a technical fault.
The number of lifts running at the same time is not published, so do not count on every lift. Bring clothes for snow and strong sun, and check the weather on the day.
Roads and getting there
The mountain roads matter for your trip. The old Strynefjell road, Gamle Strynefjellsvegen on road 258, runs 27 km between Grotli and Videsæter. It has winter closures and can be closed at short notice at night or in bad weather after it opens. The dates historically given for opening and closing are not confirmed dates for 2026.
The road also has limits for vehicles longer than 8 m and heavier than 8 t axle load on the stretch between Grotli and the county border. Check the road status before you set off and keep a margin in your plan. For the bus lines and car times around Stryn, see the main page.

Combine it with other plans
If the ski season has ended, use your days in the area for the ice instead: the Jostedal Glacier page explains guided walks, and the Briksdalsbreen page covers the valley walk. For a view from above, there is the Loen Skylift. Backcountry skiing in the north has its own guide at Lyngen Alps. Other fjord regions are covered by Norwegian Fjords. Where to sleep is on the page about where to stay.
